Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Displaced/Disadvantaged Workers Program

TUPAD

 

TUPAD or Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers is a community-based packaged of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days, but not to exceed a maximum of 30 days, depending on the nature of work to be performed.

 

Who are the eligible beneficiaries of the TUPAD Program?
  • Underemployed
  • Laid-off or terminated workers as a result of retrenchment or permanent closure of an establishment.
  • Self-employed workers (including farmers and fishermen) but have lost their livelihoods because of natural calamities/disasters, economic crisis, armed conflicts and/or seasonality of work.

Only one member of a household shall be qualified to avail of the program in a year. However, a beneficiary can avail again in the event that he/she becomes a victim of a calamity/disaster.

 

What are the eligible projects under the TUPAD Program?
  • Social community projects, such as repair, maintenance, and/or improvement of common public facilities and infrastructure such as schools and health centers, debris clearing, de-clogging of canals, debris segregation and materials recovery, stockpiling and clearing
  • Economic community projects like repair, maintenance and/or rehabilitation of farm-to-market roads, bridges, post – harvest facilities, public markets and common service facilities such as production and display centers, fishports
  • Agro-forestry community projects, such as tree planting, seedling preparation, and reforestation

Sari Sari Store Training & Access to Resources

STAR – COKE Program

 

The STAR program provides training, financial education and peer mentoring to women micro-entrepreneurs who run sari-sari stores (small convenience stores)

Government Internship Program

 

The DOLE – GIP provides 3 – 6 months internship opportunity for high school, technical – vocational or college graduates who want to pursue a career in public service in either local or national government

 

Who are Qualified?

  1. Individuals who are 18 – 30 years old except in areas stricken by disaster or calamities whether natural or man made where individuals 35 years of age may be accommodated
  2. Highschool, tech – voc graduates or college graduates
  3. Individuals with no work experience

What are the Requirements?

  1. Transcript of Records (TOR) for college students or Form 137 for high school graduates or Diploma
  2. Certificate of Graduation for tech – voc graduates.
  3. Barangay Indigency Certificate

CHED – Tulong Dunong Scholarship Program

569 Scholars

 

CHED – Tulong Dunong Program is intended for the ongoing grantees and new applicants who are enrolled or will enroll in any curriculum year level in recognized programs of Private HEIs and LUCs or authorized programs of SUCs. A student-grantee shall be entitled to a maximum of Twelve Thousand Pesos (Php12,000.00) grant per academic year.

 

General Requirements

1. Must be a Filipino citizen;
2. Must be a high school graduate; candidate for graduation; with earned units in college with at least a passing general weighted average (GWA); or passer of Alternative Learning System (ALS) / Philippine Education Placement Test (PEPT);
3. Must have a combined annual gross income of parents/guardian not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (Php300,000.00).
4. Must not be a recipient of any government scholarship and financial assistance.
5. Must not be a graduate of any degree program.
6. Must be a student of any of CHED Priority Courses.

 

Documentary Requirements

1. Accomplished CHED Application Form
2. Academic Requirements:
a. For incoming freshmen students eligible for college – high school report card or Form 138.
b. For applicants with earned units in college – duly certified copy of grades for the latest semester/term attended.
c. For Other Applicants
• ALS Passer – duly certified copy of ALS Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate; and
• PEPT Passer – duly certified copy of PEPT Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level.
3. Income Requirements:
a. Latest Income Tax Return (ITR)
b. BIR Certificate of Tax Exemption
c. Affidavit of Non-Filing of ITR
d. Barangay Certificate of Indigency;
e. Latest copy of contract for children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW);
f. Affidavit of Guardianship
4. Certificate of Good Moral Character from the last school attended.

Technical Educational and Skills Development Authority

 

TESD creates opportunities for people to be responsible and become productive citizens. The need to provide and make accessible relevant TESD compels TESDA to undertake direct training activities at the same time support training activities undertaken by other key players in the TESD sector.

TESDA Technology Institutions are composed of 125 schools, regional, provincial and specialized training centers nationwide which undertake direct training activities for TESDA. The absence of an institution in the area which can provide people equitable access to TESD necessitates TESDA to undertake direct training activities. These TTIs also serve as venues to test new training schemes and are used as laboratories for new technology.

Among TESDA’s specialized training centers are the following:
TESDA Women’s Center (TWC) seeks to advance the economic status of women through training, entrepreneurship development, gender sensitive policies, programs and projects and research and advocacy. It was established through a grant from the Government of Japan.

Language Skills Institute (LSI ) serves as TESDA’s facility for language programs specifically for workers intending to work abroad. The LSI conducts training on workplacecommunication on the language of the country of the worker’s destination. There are 35 LSI nationwide offering different language courses which include English, Korean, Mandarin, Japanese and Spanish.

Korea-Philippines IT Training Centers are grant-assisted projects from the Government of the Republic of Korea. These KPITTCs are located at the Polytechnic University in Novaliches, Quezon City and at the Regional Skills Development Centers in Guiguinto, Bulacan and Tibungco, Davao City, respectively.
